WiebeTech’s Forensic UltraDock Debuts on NCIS: Masquerade Season 7 – Episode 13

VANCOUVER, WA - February 8, 2010 The Forensic UltraDock™ from WiebeTech™, a brand of CRU-DataPort®, aired February 2, 010 in the 7th season of NCIS: Masquerade, starring Mark Harmon as the Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Gibbs and Pauley Perrette as the witty Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto. After a radioactive explosion, the Forensic UltraDock was shown attached to a charred hard drive capturing seemingly irretrievable data in this riveting police procedural drama. Fortunately, Abby was able to capture the alleged terrorist's distorted message via the Forensic UltraDock and save the day!

Forensic UltraDock is the digital forensic industry's premium field imager. WiebeTech's proprietary write-blocked technology offers read-only access to suspect hard drives through eSATA, USB or FireWire 800/400 interfaces for maximum versatility. It allows investigators to download and image contents of a suspect drive without the risk of data being written back to the drive and is fully compatible with forensic acquisition and analysis software. Features include five ports on the host side, native PATA and SATA drive connections, two power options, a recessed on/off switch guard, and 8 status LEDs in a rugged aluminum enclosure. Simply snap the suspect IDE or SATA drive into the dock, plug in the power and attach a cable to a host computer then download and image the entire contents to the hard drive.

James Wiebe, CRU-DataPort Vice President of Research and Development, asserts "WiebeTech's Forensic UltraDock has become a standard tool for computer forensic investigators. We've always listened to our customers and as a result, it's loaded with features they want: power monitoring, hidden area detection, SATA write blocking, quad host ports, and much more." CRU-DataPort-WiebeTech will display the Forensic UltraDock in conjunction with several other forensic tools and removable and mobile data security solutions at the Federal Office Systems Exposition (FOSE) in Washington DC, March 23-25, 2010.
